04 / VISUAL AND TECHNICAL REVIEW

3D preview before production

The 3D preview serves two different purposes and does both. To the customer it shows what the unit will look like — with the real decor, glass and hardware. To the engineer it shows how it is assembled — where the reinforcement sits, how the profiles join, whether the division came out as intended. One model, two ways of looking at it.

The model is not drawn separately. It is generated from the same drawing that generates the bill of materials, so it cannot show something the structure does not contain.

HOW IT WORKS

What 3D Preview actually does.

01

Three display modes

Studio mode gives a realistic render with materials and lighting — for the conversation with the customer. Technical mode strips the effects and shows the construction. Clean mode removes everything but the geometry itself, for when the shape needs looking at without distraction.

Studio
Realistic render with decors, glass and finish.
Technical
Construction without effects, for checking assembly.
Clean
Geometry alone, without materials or background.
02

Views and projection

The view rotates freely or snaps to preset angles — front, back, left, right, top, bottom — plus a dedicated presentation view. Projection switches between perspective and orthographic; orthographic is useful when comparing measurements, because it does not distort proportions.

Preset views
Six principal faces and a presentation angle, in one click.
Perspective
A natural sense of depth, for showing the customer.
Orthographic
No perspective distortion, for comparing measurements.
03

Exploded view and inspector

The exploded view moves parts apart so you can see the assembly order and what is otherwise hidden — reinforcement inside a profile, the subframe seat, the bead machining. The inspector reports on the selected part: which profile, which colour, which length.

Exploding
Parts move apart to reveal assembly and order.
Inspector
Data on the selected part, straight from the structure.
Reinforcement section
Reinforcement shown inside the profile.
04

Why this is cheaper than a sample

A mistake in the division, a wrong opening direction or a decor that does not match expectation costs as much as the whole unit — but only if it is found after production. In the 3D preview they are visible before anything has been cut, to both the customer and the engineer, on the same model.

CAPABILITIES / 01—06

What the module covers.

01

Three display modes

Studio for the customer, technical for checking assembly, clean for the geometry alone.

02

Preset views

Six principal faces and a presentation angle, plus free rotation.

03

Perspective or orthographic

Natural depth for presentation, or undistorted projection for comparing measurements.

04

Exploded view

Parts move apart to reveal assembly order and otherwise hidden components.

05

Component inspector

Profile, colour and dimension of the selected part, straight from the structure.

06

Real materials

Decors, glass and finishes exactly as they were selected on the drawing.

Limits, plainly stated

The preview shows what the structure defines — a decor not entered into the database will not appear. How realistic studio mode looks depends on how thoroughly the materials are described. The 3D preview is not a structural calculation tool; permitted sash size is checked by the hardware diagram and reinforcement statics in the Drawing module.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Clear and specific.

01Do I have to model it separately?

No. The model is generated from the same drawing that generates the bill of materials. Change the structure and the 3D preview changes with it.

02Can I send the preview to a customer?

The preview is used inside the software, and an image can be saved and attached to a quotation. Studio mode is intended for exactly that conversation.

03Are the real decors and glass shown?

Yes, for materials entered into the database with a corresponding description. Anything not described is shown neutrally.

04What is the exploded view for?

It moves parts apart so you can see the assembly order and what is otherwise hidden — reinforcement inside a profile, the subframe seat, the bead machining.

05What is the difference between perspective and orthographic?

Perspective gives a natural sense of depth and is better for showing a customer. Orthographic does not distort proportions, so it is better when comparing measurements or checking symmetry.

06Does the 3D preview verify that the design is buildable?

Not directly. Permitted sash size is checked by the hardware diagram and reinforcement statics in the Drawing module; the 3D preview shows how the unit is assembled and how it looks.
